Justice, Justice 1964: St. Augustine Jewish Historical Society Honors 50th Anniversary of Mass Rabbi Arrest for Civil Rights Demonstrations

June 18, 2014 is the 50th anniversary of the largest mass arrest of Rabbis in the United States, which occurred in St. Augustine, FL during civil rights demonstrations. The St. Augustine Jewish Historical Society is presenting a two-day symposium to honor the rabbis, who will return to St. Augustine and participate in historical commemorations from June 17-18, 2014.

Events will feature:

  • Panel discussion with Rabbis
  • Reading of letter by Rabbis
  • Ecumenical gathering at St. Paul AMEC
