2/10, “X-Man: The Story of Malcolm X”

On Monday, Feb. 10, Professors Dr. Ortiz, Amy Ongiri and Zoharah Simmons will present a public panel at 6:00 p.m., “X-Man: The Story of Malcolm X.” The event will take place in the Reitz Union’s Rion Ballroom is co-sponsored by Islam on Campus and the Black Student Union.

History tends to shed a negative light on the role of Malcolm X in the civil rights movement. However, Malcolm X was one of the most influential historical figures in America and continues to be eulogized in music, poetry, and other art forms. Over the course of his life, Malcolm went through numerous transformations, both ideologically and spiritually. Islam On Campus and the Black Student Union invite you to attend this wonderful event exploring the life and legacy of Malcolm X in celebration of both Black History Month and Islam Awareness Month.
