Students in the seminar class presented “Familias Unidas: Amor y Comunidad,” their community development plan for the immigrant community of Gainesville, on December 11 at the Institute for Hispanic-Latino Cultures. The class was taught by Dr. Paul Ortiz and instructor Génesis Lara.

During the spring, the class will continue in a second section, and students will travel to Arizona to conduct oral history interviews about the banned Ethnic Studies program in Tucson public schools.
